What’s Unique?

Hey there. I’m Debbie, the obsessive reader that calls this place their cyber home. You will notice, the bulk of this site is for book reviews. I love to read and I’m kind of obsessive about it lol. The featured book review posts are for books that I have personally read and that earned 3-5 stars in my opinion. It is my hope that I can give you enough information about why I loved it, while not giving you so much that you know what to expect. I hate to read reviews that tell me what’s going to happen before I even start reading. Hello! That kind of ruins it for me.

So lets talk about the “unique” part of my tag line. First off, I really wanted to help indie authors. There is an amazing amount of talent out there that never really gets off the ground because most people don’t ever find them. So I created a feature just for indie authors to help give them exposure. Please try them and tell others about them. How good would it make you feel to help them succeed?

I’ve also added a feature for KU (kindle unlimited) books that you do NOT want to miss. A lot of debate goes on between supporters and those that don’t see the value in it. I have had KU for 5 years and many times I couldn’t afford to buy books so this was the only way that I could read. (Yes, I know there is a library near me but damn, once you go kindle, you can’t go back lol.) I love KU and want to support the authors that are using it, because I can 🙂 and because they need to know that we support them in this way. All of these books are available for purchase even if you don’t have KU, so don’t skip this feature.

There is also a feature for author spotlights. Now, if you know me at all, you know that I like to be different, so this isn’t standard fare either. My goal here is for you to get to know them and their work, yes, but also, how do their minds work. With some of them that might be scary because quite frankly, some of them give crazy new meaning lol. (Don’t tell them I said that.) Check them out and please try their books. Lots of talent here you guys.

Now on to the other feature, unique genres. I will tell you that these are not for everyone. These are the books that few are brave enough to talk about but MANY enjoy. I’ll be the first one to come out of the book closet and tell you that I LOVE a really well written menage. For me, that always means multiple males with only 1 female, cause I don’t like to share 🙂, but there are lots of other configurations (ok don’t laugh at that, I couldn’t think of a better word). There are some very talented writers that tell amazing stories in this category. This feature includes menage, LGBT, erotica, heavier BDSM (my regular categories can have some elements of it) and anything else I find that is outside the box.

*Just so you know, there are two things that I require in a book and a few that I absolutely hate, and I won’t review and rate a book that crosses those lines in order for me to be fair to the authors and more importantly, to you. All of my books MUST have a HEA (happily ever after) cause these are for entertainment and escape and who wants a book that ends in disaster? The other requirement is that it must be well written. Not perfect mind you, but I can’t enjoy a book that I am either constantly correcting or that I can’t even figure out.

*My no ways? NO incest cause, hello! gross for me. No cheating just for sex, no extreme BDSM that includes permanent damage and disfigurement (that doesn’t include what’s happened in our character’s past) and no orgies. Yes, I love menage but as part of a loving healthy relationship with the required happy ending. If you relate menage with orgies, you haven’t read a really good menage book yet. Orgy sex, just for the sake of…ok I don’t know why people do this at all, so you can see why I won’t review these. And that’s it pretty much. Anything else is fair game 🙂

So what are my ratings and what do they mean. I only review books on this site that I feel are 3 stars or better. And I only feature those authors that I believe routinely write at those levels. For new authors, I feel that their 1st book is indicative of that. Each review will tell you why I rated them the way that I did.

On each review, I place a link to the book for your convenience. These are affiliate links (see the notice at the bottom of each page for more information). Now go check out my reviews and please, when you read the book, come back and let me know what you thought.

Thanks for visiting, I am so happy that you are here. If you have questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me. Oh and if you haven’t already, please join my mailing list so we can keep in touch.
