Those that know me well will tell you that I am rarely at a loss for words. Funny enough, I have so much in my head that I can’t figure out what to say lol. So, I love Angel (A.D.), her Steele Security series is one of my favorite. Every book has been better than the last and I have been anticipating Devon aka Shadow’s story, knowing it would be awesome.
So I just finished in the wee hours this morning and I have to tell you that, OMG this book is not only the best in the series, but it’s the best book I’ve read in a long time. You all know I love an alpha male hero that’s big and bad, knows what it means to cherish and protect and loves with his whole heart. One that will do anything for his woman and will protect her no matter what. That is Shadow (Devon), black ops CIA operative, living in the shadows hunting the monsters.
Then there is Elle. Wow, I have never loved a heroine quite as much as I love Elle. She’s been in love with Devon, her brother’s best friend, since she was 7 years old. She’s a sucessful model at the age of 20, when she and Devon come together for the first time (ooo, no pun intended, but it does fit lol).
Devon and Elle are so amazing together. Their chemistry is off the charts of course, but their love stands the test of time through seperations, secrets, lies and misunderstandings. There is so much I want to tell you but I don’t want to spoil the book for you.
I know I’ve reviewed books before and I’ve said that it sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down. I’ve had books that made me laugh and tear up from the emotion. This book, Wicked Shadows, is like that but on speed. I literally was on the edge of my seat half the time. I cried (like rolling down my face tears). I got pissed off. I laughed, out loud in public :). I mourned, thus the tears. But most important, I felt the forever, from this life into eternity, love between Devon and Elle.
To make this book even better, all of the Steele Security family was in this book, from Noah all the way to Liz (she is a hoot). It was so awesome to get to visit with them again. If you haven’t read the series, this is a stand alone book so don’t let that stop you. I know you will want to read them all and you certainly will enjoy them. I’ll put links for all of them at the bottom after Wicked Shadows, in case you want to start from the first book. I also found an awesome set of all 5.
